The Culinary Trust thanks The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts for two generous grants that support programs at the upcoming International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) 40th anniversary conference at the Hilton Midtown in New York City, February 23-25, 2018.
STORYCORPS AT IACP CONFERENCE
With grant funding from the Foundation, IACP is launching an exciting and important oral history project. Beginning on Friday, February 23 and for three days, StoryCorps will be recording live interview sessions with select IACP members who have made a major impact on food culture and the food industry. These shared stories will be archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and with Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Study at Harvard’s Schlesinger Library, home to one of the world’s most outstanding collections of historical cookbooks, including papers, recipes and cookbooks of Julia and Paul Child.

THE IACP JULIA CHILD FIRST BOOK AWARD
IACP announced the finalists for their 2018 IACP Awards at a reception on Tuesday, February 6 at Hotel 50 Bowery. Lauren Salkeld, Grant and Media Manager at the Foundation, was on hand to announce IACP’s finalists for the award and the Foundation’s new collaboration with The Trust and IACP.
The 2018 IACP Julia Child First Book Award is now accompanied by a $5,000 professional development grant provided by the Foundation to, and administered by, The Culinary Trust. The three finalists are:

The 2018 IACP Award winners will be announced on the last night of conference, Sunday, February 25 starting at 6:30pm EST. The awards ceremony will be held at the New York Times Center and hosted by Gail Simmons, Food & Wine’s Special Projects Director and judge on BRAVO’s Emmy-winning series Top Chef.
